Improvised "Hall Update" Thumbnail. |
I was miserable and somewhat happy this month. Dramatic entry, I know. It's just that I would like to get over bad stuff straight away and then mention something either more interesting or positive. They ended up cutting us off from the warm water like a few days after my previous update. So that's fun. My copywrite fluff was mostly stale, but recently I get back to business and that's partially a reason why I would rather keep this post short.
Summary.
First of all, I'm 21-year-old now. Just imagine: this derpy gnome right there with him scuffed life and this weird blog is that old. I'm truly special. Even though I didn't had a proper celebration of my birthday (I'm not counting the in-game event in World of Warcraft that's surely dedicated solely to me since I don't play it anymore), most of my friends congratulated me and it was nice to read all the kind words from them. I got myself a cake and ate over the cource of July 4th. And I've beaten New Game Plus in Bastion in that day.
Speaking of which, I ended up getting myself Logitech F310 in perfect condition. And by "getting myself" I mean letting my dad handle all the hazzle of talking to the guy and driving to the other side of the city. I wanted to acquire a gamepad for a long time now and thought about Xbox 360 and One controllers, as well as Logitech Chillstream. However, I've realize that all of those options are just unachievable: I don't trust 360 replicas, One controllers are rare and too expensive for my nonexistent budget and Xbox variation of Chillstream is even harder to spot.
This great purchase has given me the motivation to start playing games again. Not just some random PICO-8 gems in order to try out my Logitech F310, but other games as well. Quake and Minecraft felt pretty odd to me, even though I believe I had a somewhat better time with the latter when I tried out Chillstream a few years old when my dad borrowed one from his friend. I'll be honest my saying that I'm terrible at Rogue Legacy and it makes me sad. However, I've beaten Bastion with controller. Twice. And collected all achievements on Steam. Loved this game. But I did come up with mouse & keyboard for the latest HROT update that completed the second episode and introduced new achievements and stuff. That game is in my top three of these retro first-person shooters.
Nothing was done for the blog and I'm not sure when I get around to that. I'm thinking about trying in the direction of more larger "articles" I was writing in early days of Ilko's Hall. Favor "large-scale & quality" content free of a specific deadline instead of more regular and smaller posts I wrote for a while. Did nothing about A Little Chat posts, but recent developers in Warcraft 3 surrounding Patch 1.33 is worthy going back to that subject and I think I'm looking forward to it this time around.
