August 2022 Update

Improvised "Hall Update" Thumbnail.

No drama this time. This month might've been slightly better than the previous one. Copywriting resumed for some time and I got probably the largest pay ever. I was a busy guy who rewrote a lot of silly texts and payroll kept getting delayed. You know, it is current times and something just has to go wrong for me. Then I got another two week break that, according to current plans, should end today (somewhere at August 13-15). So it feels natural to look back at July 2022 Update and "keep this post short" yet again.

Summary.

In a couple of days after this Update come out, Warcraft 3 will be upgraded to Patch 1.33. I've been keeping track of PTR and (somehow) what effect it had on the community. My thoughts so far are mixed, and I still intend to talk about that in the near future. Before that, I was slightly active on both game's official forums and r/Warcraft3 (Reddit, I know): it was all about spreading the word about returning Classic portraits, as well as pointing out specific flaws and concerns surrounding them. I even achieved a small victory on that front, but that's the story for another time.

As for the broader blog front, there's still nothing much to talk about. I seem to slowly get better at Rogue Legacy, but I still have ways to go. Not sure if this year QuakeCon would have anything worthwhile of Events "article", but Realms Deep is coming: just have to have for proper announcement. It's probably too late for me to even try reach out some developers for scuffed (or comfy) A Little Chat posts, so that's on me. Yeah.

Highlight of this month was me getting outside and meeting a couple of good friends. It didn't go as I expected. I'm not complaining because we still had a good time. You know, just properly reconnected with each other: I had my own silly bullshit, first friend didn't really talk about much outside of copywrite ordeals and second one used most of his time he had after returning from conscription (he's well; easily dodged the thing). Not much room for typical boy nonsense. Perhaps we just grew up over the past 12 months. Well, they did for sure.

What else?.. Oh, right. I kind of started to go back to my roots, sort of speak. Since current Warcraft franchise is not worth my time, I decided to look towards something that interested me before my family got me into World of Warcraft: Spider-Man. I managed to read two short comic book series: Spidey and Spidey: School's Out. Spidey had potential, but there're also a lot of things I didn't like about both of them. Especially the School's Out. Haven't really read many comics before, actually. More familiar with Peter Parker thanks to The Animated Series & Sam Raimi's trilogy. Hell, I haven't seen Spectacular Spider-Man until a few years ago. Someone suggested me the first volume of Marvel Adventures Spider-Man and some issues from Peter Parker: Spider-Man (+1 Amazing comic). And I want to rewatch both aforementioned cartoons. I'll get to that. Eventually.

Either way, I should enjoy that while it lasts. There're still many unresolved problems around. There's still Ciri in her current condition. Even though she's still going strong currently, the reality is a final countdown. I'm trying not to think about all those terrible things all that much because I know they'll hit me in the face when "the right time" comes. And there will be another hit. And another... I just had to destroy my sudden optimism.
